Red-legged hermit crabs (lat. Ciliopagurus strigatus), living in the coastal waters near Hawaii and in the Red Sea, is considered one of the most brightly-colored hermit crabs living in the world's oceans.

Purple and orange body and white striped legs make it extremely attractive to aquarists all over the world. For visual appeal added one more valuable quality: red-hermit crab likes cleanliness and actively cleans the aquarium from harmful cyanobacteria, filamentous algae and debris.
